What are you involved in at º£½ÇÊÓƵ?
In addition to being a head tour guide, I am a member of the varsity cross-country and sailing teams.
Why did you choose º£½ÇÊÓƵ?
I chose º£½ÇÊÓƵ for its strong sense of community and the breadth of its curriculum. As a transfer student, I was welcomed into the school and felt at home from day one. Additionally, I think one of º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s biggest strengths is its lack of AP classes, as it creates a diverse curriculum that allows students to delve deeper into almost any interest.
Favorite class you’ve taken at º£½ÇÊÓƵ and why?
My favorite class I've taken at º£½ÇÊÓƵ was Precalculus, taught by Nikan Hodjat. I think this class perfectly encapsulates the collaborative nature of academics at º£½ÇÊÓƵ, as it was, at its core, discussion-based, not lecture-based. Nikan's infectious energy made the course engaging and easy to follow.
Advice to prospective students?
My advice to prospective students is to be open to new experiences. Moving from middle school to high school is a big adjustment! It can be daunting. º£½ÇÊÓƵ has so much to offer, so join a new club, try a new instrument, or take a class you know nothing about.
What is your favorite activity at º£½ÇÊÓƵ and why?
My favorite activities at º£½ÇÊÓƵ are the Friday night events throughout the year, such as SpringFest and the Cookout, as they’re a good way to relax after a long week. The community shows up, there’s always good food, and it sets the tone for the weekend.
