What are you involved in at º£½ÇÊÓƵ?
In addition to being a head tour guide, I’m also a head orientation leader for the new 9th grade students, a student ambassador for PALS (º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s service society), and I take guitar lessons.
Why did you choose º£½ÇÊÓƵ?
I chose to come to º£½ÇÊÓƵ because of the special feel on campus. When I visited, I noticed something unique in the communal spaces—how open and friendly the people seemed. Everyone smiled at me and knew each other, and I could tell how many opportunities there were for all kinds of connections. Everyone is genuinely excited to be here together every day.
Favorite class you’ve taken at º£½ÇÊÓƵ and why?
I took Sabrina Sadiques’s Bible as Literature class my junior spring, and it has been one of the best experiences I’ve had so far at º£½ÇÊÓƵ. The class genuinely changed how I thought about learning. Sabrina’s passion for the material is contagious, and the course’s relevance in all aspects of my life has been amazing to discover. I’ve learned so much about biblical writing and concepts, while still learning a lot about how to manage an advanced and exciting courseload.
Share a moment where you knew you belonged at º£½ÇÊÓƵ.
I spent a semester abroad in Spain during my junior fall, which was an incredible experience, but I was nervous about returning to campus after spending so much time away from home. The º£½ÇÊÓƵ community welcomed me back so warmly. It took me a while to adjust, but I never felt like I was out of place, even having spent a whole semester away. My friends and teachers were really excited to see me, and it made my transition back so much easier.
Advice to prospective students?
Take classes that really excite you, and get to know the teacher early and well. Office hours, lunch meetings, and random conversations with teachers have animated my education here and brought me a real love of learning. The teachers here want to know you, and letting them in makes all the difference.
