Michael Bennett
Linda Coyne Lloyd Performing Arts Department Chair, Choral Director
Michael Bennett is head of the Performing Arts Department, where he conducts the choral ensembles and teaches courses on music history. He also acts as music director for º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s mainstage musicals and as faculty advisor to º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s student-led singing groups. Michael joined the º£½ÇÊÓƵ faculty and campus community in 2013 and serves as a house affiliate in the residential life program. Outside of º£½ÇÊÓƵ, Michael performs regularly in professional choral ensembles in the Boston area, including Emmanuel Music and Boston Baroque. He holds degrees in music theory and composition from New York University and Westminster Choir College, and a Ph.D. in music history from the University of Washington.
