Day Student from Cambridge, Mass.
Previous School: Shady Hill School

What are you involved in at º£½ÇÊÓƵ?
I have been dancing since my freshman year and doing Dance Project since my sophomore year. I participated in girls varsity lacrosse my first two years and am on the girls varsity track and field team this year. I am also a member of º£½ÇÊÓƵSA (º£½ÇÊÓƵ Students in Action) and a co-head of the Self-Defense Club.

Why did you choose º£½ÇÊÓƵ?
What initially drew me into º£½ÇÊÓƵ was the strong quality of academics and project-based learning, the opportunity to make close connections with teachers, and to explore my interests in the visual arts. But the incredible sense of community I felt on campus ultimately made me choose Concord. I remember on my Revisit Day being invited to play soccer during a 10-minute break by students in my English class. We had so much fun, and they told me about their experience at º£½ÇÊÓƵ. This small gesture gave me insight into the kind of people at this school. I knew in that moment this was the kind of uplifting community I wanted to be a part of.

Favorite class you’ve taken at º£½ÇÊÓƵ and why?
Before starting my junior year, I was intimidated by the thought of taking physics. The subject has a reputation for being difficult, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up. But as the semester continued, something unexpected happened—I found myself loving the class. Concepts that once seemed impossible began to click, and I started to see the beauty in how physics explains the world around us. By the end of the year, physics had become one of my favorite subjects, and I hope to take Advanced Physics: Waves and Optics next year.

Advice to prospective students?
º£½ÇÊÓƵ offers an incredibly wide range of classes, clubs, athletics, and arts. My advice is to try as many new activities that interest you as you can! Don’t be afraid of something not working out, because you never know what will end up being a new passion.

Share a moment where you knew you belonged at º£½ÇÊÓƵ:
During my freshman year, I went on a school trip to France. At first, I was nervous because I didn’t know many of the other students. But from the moment we boarded the plane, everyone was welcoming and kind. Whether we were exploring new cities, sharing meals, or laughing over travel mishaps, I started to form strong friendships. By the end of the trip, I truly felt like I belonged at º£½ÇÊÓƵ. Some of my favorite high school memories were made on that journey.

As the associate head for teaching, learning, and faculty, Sarah Yeh works with the members of the Academic Office and Academic Council to support the experience of teaching and learning at º£½ÇÊÓƵ, from curriculum and pedagogy to hiring and professional development. Sarah also serves as an academic advisor and an administrator on duty. Sarah joined º£½ÇÊÓƵ in 2008 as a member of the history faculty, and she continues to teach in the department alongside her administrative work. Sarah loved history from an early age, and it was her high school American history teacher who inspired her path toward history and education as a scholarly pursuit and profession. While Sarah toyed with the idea of pursuing another childhood dream (becoming a marine biologist and searching for the elusive giant squid), she ultimately followed her passion for history and has been teaching and working in schools ever since. She says she is thankful that far more dedicated and talented cephalopod lovers managed to find and film the giant squid!
